Nitrous Oxide Instructions for your child
Lets You Stay in Control
Is Nitrous Oxide Safe?
We have Nitrous masks in different scents like Bubblegum, orangesicle, and Vanilla.
Prior to a Nitrous appointment:
- Give your child little or no food in the two hours preceding the dental visit (occasionally, nausea or vomiting occurs when a child has a full stomach).
- Tell your pediatric dentist about any respiratory condition that makes breathing through the nose difficult for your child, as it may limit the effectiveness of nitrous oxide/oxygen.
- Tell your dentist if your child is taking any medication on the day of the appointment.
- Tell your dentist if you are pregnant on the day of the appointment.
There are no prolonged side effects when using Nitrous Oxide and normal activity can be resumed post-dental procedure.
Sheer Smiles participates with most PPO insurance plans. Medicaid and CHIP accepted.

The effects of fruit on kids teeth
We all know that fruit is full of vitamins and an important part of kids diets.
